NCYGS 2023 Scholarships Available

The American Horticultural Society is pleased to offer scholarships to help defray the cost to attend the 2023 National Children & Youth Garden Symposium, taking place at UT Knoxville in Knoxville, TN July 12-15. Read on for more details. Scholarships will be awarded based on demonstrated financial need, commitment to children’s and youth gardening initiatives, and work with underserved and/or Title I populations. 

There are three scholarship categories. There is only one application form; on this form, please indicate the categories for which you wish to be considered. You may select one, two, or three categories.  

APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS 

The window to apply for both types of scholarships is now open.
The deadline to apply is May 27, 2023. 

CATEGORY ONE:Ball Horticultural logo Ball Horticultural Scholarship Fund – open to those who self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or as a Person of Color

New this year, thanks to generous support from Ball Horticultural Company, five (5) scholarships are available to cover full symposium registration, 3 nights stay at the designated symposium hotel, and up to $300 in travel expenses. These scholarships are open to attendees that self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or as a Person of Color.

CATEGORY TWO:University of Tennessee Scholarships –open to Tennessee residents and UT students

Thanks to generous support from the University of Tennessee, six (6) scholarships are available to cover full symposium registration. These scholarships are open to attendees who are Tennessee residents or attend the University of Tennessee.

 

CATEGORY THREE:National Children & Youth Garden Symposium Scholarships – open to all
symposium attendees 

A limited number of scholarships for discounted or complimentary registrations (no travel expenses covered) are available. Preference is given to those who have not attended a previous symposium.
