SUMMARY:Middlesex Conservation District's 2026 Spring Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:The Middlesex Conservation District will be holding its Spring Plant Sale and cash sale on Friday\, May 1\, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM\, and Saturday\, May 2\, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Minuteman High School. The address is 758 Marrett Road\, Lexington\, MA 02421.\nThis event is open to people of Middlesex County\, Massachusetts and surrounding areas. Plants and products must be picked up in person. \nAll items can be pre-ordered through April 24th and picked up on the sale days – we encourage early ordering as all items are sold on a first come\, first served basis. Find more about our plant sale. Online ordering can be done through our website. Pick up your order on the dates listed above. Offerings include native shrub seedlings\, wildflowers\, ferns\, grasses\, and hardgoods such as garden labels. All plants are straight\, native species that benefit our native pollinators\, wildlife\, and local ecosystem. \nSome of the plants we are offering include northern maidenhair fern\, culver’s root\, closed gentian\, foam flower\, lance-leaf coreopsis\, narrow-leaved blue-eyed grass (a wildflower)\, little bluestem\, cardinal flower\, narrowleaf evening primrose\, Pennsylvania sedge\, red columbine\, red-osier dogwood\, and spotted beebalm. \nThe Middlesex Conservation District is a not-for-profit environmental agency whose purpose is conservation of natural resources of Middlesex County. Proceeds from our biannual plant sales provide educational programs and other activities which aim to protect our soil and water resources. SUMMARY:Pottery Floral Garden Stakes Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Make your own garden flowers that will never fade! In this two session course\, you will learn to hand build beautiful floral garden stakes from a slab of clay. An instructor from the Elkhart Art League will teach you the basics of slab hand building—rolling out your slab of clay\, applying texture to your slab\, using templates to create your forms\, decorating your flowers to create your own style\, and the final step of glazing your pieces. \nThis course takes place on two Sundays\, May 2nd and May 16th. When you sign up\, you’re in for both sessions! Students will take home 2-3 finished floral stakes a week after the second session. All supplies are included in the workshop price\, please feel free to bring an apron from home if you’d like. \nThe classes will take place under our covered Outdoor Classroom. Please plan to dress for the weather. If inclement weather arises\, classes may be moved into our indoor Cottage Classroom. This class is intended for ages 16+. All minors must be accompanied by a registered adult. \nRegistration is required; space is limited! This class is non-refundable. DESCRIPTION:75\,000+ Tulips for Display & Pick-Your-Own\nThe Garden at Elm Bank\n900 Washington Street\, Wellesley\, MA 02482 \nPlan your spring trip to one of Boston’s closest tulip fields (less than 20 miles from Downtown!). Advanced purchase of timed tickets is required. \nTickets are on sale for Thursday\, April 23 through Sunday\, May 3\nEntries from 10am-5pm most days (10am-4pm on 5/2 and 5/3).\nAdmission:\n$5 for MHS members\n$20 for Adults\n$10 for Kids (3-17)\nChildren 2 and under are free \nPick-Your-Own stems are included with paid tickets while supplies are available. Your best chance for a PYO experience is attending early! Pre-cut stems are available throughout the event. \nPose for photos in the display-only area in the Trial Garden and take Tulip Mania home with you as pick-your-own stems (while available) or precut stems (available throughout the festival). See spring flowers throughout the Garden at Elm Bank with rows of daffodils in the Italianate Garden\, fragrant Magnolias and Lilacs\, decades-old Rhododendrons\, and purple Alliums from April to May. \nOn Saturday\, May 2\, MHS will celebrate World Labyrinth Day from 11am to 2pm. Guests are invited to step into a peaceful and meditative walk through the labyrinth accompanied by soothing wooden flute music by Brenda Fingold and John Gass. \nThrough educational programming like Tulip Mania\, Massachusetts Horticultural Society advances the art and science of horticulture to help people lead healthier and happier lives. MHS looks forward to welcoming thousands of guests to experience firsthand the joy of horticulture this spring and throughout the Garden Season (April 1-November 24\, 2026).
