In the 1930s Ellen Biddle Shipman was a pioneer for women in the field of landscape architecture. The Manor House at Wildwood Preserve Metropark was formerly the estate of Champion Spark Plug founder R.A. Stranahan and is home to one of Ellen Biddle Shipman’s few remaining gardens. It is free and open for the public to enjoy 365 days a year.
