Since its founding in 1831, Mount Auburn Cemetery has been a place for solace and inspiration through its roles as an active cemetery, green space, wildlife refuge, and community hub. The Friends of Mount Auburn, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, assists in conserving the Cemetery’s landscape and increasing public awareness of its historic and natural resources through educational programming and fundraising for special projects. The 175-acre National Historic Landmark is a botanic garden and an arboretum.
