Join fellow AHS members in your region for a behind-the-scenes tour of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Led by the park’s director of horticulture, this tour will show highlights the season’s most stunning collections. Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85‐acre sustainable park stretching 1.3 miles along Brooklyn’s East River waterfront. It was designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and emphasizes native plantings and habitats.
Rashid Poulson is a Brooklyn native and the Director of Horticulture at Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation. Poulson’s horticulture career began with the Million Trees Training Program, where he studied and practiced arboriculture, urban landscape design, and ecological restoration. His current role as Director focuses on the management, training, and development of the Horticulture Staff and spreading the lore of the park’s horticulture through tours, presentations, and community engagement. Additionally, he manages the Pier 5 Uplands Berm allowing him to maintain a connection with the landscape, the staff, and the community he has been connected to for over a decade.
