The AHS Environmental Awards recognizes outstanding horticultural exhibits at plant and garden shows across the nation. These awards honor horticultural excellence that highlights the bond between nature, sustainability, and design, inspiring viewers to beautify home and community through skillful design and thoughtfully chosen plant materials.

Winner: Tomorrow’s Eden – Gardens for a Changing World by Ishihara Kazuyuki X Treeline Designs

This inspiring garden captures the spirit of nature. Having elements of mystery and surprise, using the concept of hide and reveal, one’s eye is pulled into the various scenes to experience the depth and detail beyond. Exceptional stone work, a dramatic waterfall, seating area, and superb planting design create intriguing scenes that give an overall feeling of calm. The simplicity of the moss contrasts with the complexity of the roots. The Environmental Award for the Philadelphia Flower Show was judged by AHS board member Holly Shimizu and landscape designer Bevan Shimizu.
