BLOOM Saturdays are your invitation to make a day of it at the Garden. Every Saturday from March through May, the grounds come alive with themed programming that blends children’s activities, food trucks, a full bar, and live performances into one easy, joy-filled spring tradition. Each Saturday offers something new to discover, from cultural celebrations and hands-on art to music, dance, storytelling, and special guest appearances, all set against the backdrop of peak seasonal blooms. Come for an hour or stay all day. No two Saturdays are ever the same.

Free with Garden admission. No reservation is necessary. Canceled if raining.

March 7 — Little Blossoms Day
Celebrate spring through a child’s eyes with playful, Japanese-inspired kids’ activities led by students from the University of Memphis Japanese Program.

March 14 — Teas & Traditions
From tea ceremony to kimono try-ons, this Saturday offers a hands-on introduction to timeless Japanese traditions.

March 21 — Cherry Blossom Picnic
Enjoy peak cherry blossom season with taiko drumming, live music, Japanese children’s activities, local vendors, and the mesmerising art of amezaiku candy sculpting.

March 28 — Seijaku-En: The Art of Quiet Beauty
Slow down with guided Japanese Garden tours and bonsai demonstrations highlighting balance, craftsmanship, and mindful design.

April 4 — Springtime Scribbles & Bunny Tales
Meet the Easter Bunny, watch local chalk artist Craig Thompson bring colorful art to life, and join in by creating your own chalk masterpieces during this cheerful, family-friendly spring celebration.

April 11 — Symphony in Bloom
The Memphis Symphony Orchestra fills the Garden with live music for a Saturday of strolling, sipping, and springtime sound.

April 18 (& 19) — Gabby’s Garden Days Meet & Greet
Celebrate creativity and nature with interactive activities, live moments, and spring surprises for all ages.

April 25 — Garden Games
Play the day away with classic outdoor games like croquet, hula hoops, and more, paired with spring blooms and laid-back Garden fun.

May 2 — Strings & Sunshine
Avid Violin by Zoe Johnson brings bright, energetic performances that pair perfectly with a spring stroll.

May 9 — Storybook Saturday: The 96 Acre Wood
Celebrate the opening of the Idea Garden with a live Winnie-the-Pooh performance from Playhouse on the Square and storybook-inspired fun in My Big Backyard.

May 16 — Dance Among the Flowers
Ballet Memphis brings graceful, live dance performances to the Garden for a truly moving spring experience.

May 23 — Paws, Picnics & Petals
Leashed dogs are welcome for a tail-wagging Saturday filled with spring blooms, open lawns, and pet-friendly fun.

May 30 — Grand Finale: Strings in Full Bloom
Close out BLOOM Saturdays with soul-stirring live violin performances by Renecia Michelle.
