A writer and floral designer whose work explores the rich intersections of design, nature, culture, and horticulture, Christin Geall brings a thoughtful and creative lens to the world of flowers. Her new book, Flora Culture: How Flowers Shape Our World, explores our love of flowers and our relationships with plants, gardens, and design.

Christin will share her expertise during two sessions at our 2026 Spring Garden Market:

• Creating a Cutting Garden | Friday, April 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
• Developing Floral Arrangements | Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

What to Expect at the Spring Garden Market

Our annual Spring Garden Market kicks off the gardening season in Northern Virginia. Join us April 10 and 11 for this signature spring event and browse our popular garden marketplace, seek advice from horticultural experts, enjoy delicious food, and tour River Farm’s beautiful gardens and manor house. The market features native plants, herbs, seeds, original art, gardening tools, specialty finds, and more!

Spring Garden Market Hours:

Friday, April 10: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 11: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ticket Information

Entry Fees

• $5 per individual (walkers or cyclists)
• $20 per car (includes all passengers)

*AHS members are FREE and do not need to pay for parking. Bring your membership ID or the March/April 2026 issue of American Gardener to our event for free entry.
*Children six and under are FREE.
*Note: entry fees do not include the two special sessions with Christin Geall.

• $35 for AHS members per session
• $40 for non-members per session (includes parking)
• $50 for AHS members for both the April 10 and 11 sessions

• Spring Garden Market Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. both days
• Cash and credit cards are also accepted on the day of the event
• No refunds, rain or shine.
• Parking on East Boulevard Drive is prohibited by Fairfax County.
• BYOW (Bring Your Own Wagon) to carry your purchases. A limited number will be available for use.

Our Spring Garden Market is one of the largest fundraisers for River Farm, a historic and horticultural treasure.
