The AHS Ecological Exhibit Award recognizes plant show excellence inspiring sustainable horticultural design. Judging considerations include concept clarity and importance, skillful design, appropriate plant materials, and ability to inspire viewers to beautify home and community. At the Philadelphia Flower Show:
The Apothecary’s Path

Prairie Wind, Kennett Square, PA
The Apothecary’s Path was a timely, charming exhibit focusing on herbal plants, their history, and their modern uses. The exhibit emphasized human relationships with nature and our dependence on plants for wellness and health. The display utilized plants of excellent quality and included sustainability features such as stone and metal borders and steps.
At the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival:
The Knowledge of Place and Time
Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Tacoma, WA
Built around native plants and the Five Cedar Teachings and presented in both English and Lushootseed, The Knowledge of Place and Time offered an immersive view into Coast Salish land stewardship. The Puyallup Tribe also served as the festival’s presenting sponsor, marking a notable moment of Indigenous visibility at one of the country’s largest garden events.
