Virtual Lecture: The Piedmont Prairie at 10 Years
November 11 | 8:00 p.m. ET | Virtual

Join Dr. Annabel Renwick, Curator of the Blomquist Garden of Native Plants at Sarah P. Duke Gardens, for the inaugural presentation in a new virtual lecture series. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Gardens’ Piedmont Prairie, Dr. Renwick will share the story behind the creation, stewardship, and evolution of this award-winning landscape, designed to showcase how the North Carolina Piedmont may have appeared more than 500 years ago.

With a background in plant sciences, garden design, and southeastern native plants, Dr. Renwick will offer insights from more than a decade of leading the Prairie’s development and conservation. This lecture will explore the ecological, horticultural, and educational impact of the Prairie and the lessons learned from managing this unique native plant community.
