UC Riverside Botanic Gardens – Art in the Gardens (Riverside, CA)

10am-3pm, University of California Riverside (UCR) Botanic Gardens will host an outreach event where curated items from local artisans are offered for sale. Come spend a pleasant afternoon strolling through Alder Canyon, where California artists and craftspersons are showcased representing a variety of media including ceramics, jewelry, mosaics, metal work, fiber arts, wood, and photography. Art in the Gardens is a great opportunity to shop from local artists while supporting the programs and activities of the UCR Botanic Gardens.

UC Botanical Gardens – Sick Plant Clinic (Berkeley, CA)

The Garden’s monthly Sick Plant Clinic is here to help! Bring plant samples to the clinic to find out which diseases or pests are afflicting your plants. Entomologists and plant pathologists will diagnose and suggest effective and environmentally sensitive remedies. Please cover plants and disease samples in containers or bags before entering the Garden.
The clinic is open on the first Saturday of the month in the Conference Center. No admission required for the clinic-only.

Lyon Arboretum – Intro to Beekeeping Class (Honolulu, HI)

This class is a daylong retreat to learn about beekeeping. Participants will spend the day learning from a local expert. There will be a brief break for lunch, but participants should plan to remain on the premises. Please be sure to bring a bag lunch that does not require refrigeration. This class will consist of an indoor slide presentation and an outdoor portion to visit the hives.

LA County Arboretum – Cactus and Succulent Show & Sale (Arcadia, CA)

It’s time again for our cactus & succulent hobby’s largest event of the year. A little competition, a little shopping, and a lot of comradery! Come join your fellow plant enthusiasts in the three-day Inter-City Cactus & Succulent Show & Sale held this year on August 4th, 5th, & 6th, 2023. Our 1500 plant exhibits represent the globe, with significant collections from South Africa, Madagascar, Mexico, South America, and the United States.

Wilbur May Arboretum & botanical Gardens – Dragon Lights: Nature’s Glow (Reno, NV)

From June 30th to August 13th, the arboretum will be illuminated once again with more than 40 groups of larger-than-life lantern sculptures. Visitors are invited to walk-through the arboretum in Reno’s midsummer nights to see and interact with our luminous displays.
