2023 Green Career Week

 

The American Horticultural Society is pleased to collaborate with Seed Your Future on Green Career Week, a national initiative led by industry professionals to increase awareness about green industry careers and reach the next generation of garden professionals.

As part of the initiative, AHS offers the resources shown below, which are presentations drawn from recent years of the American Horticultural Society’s National Children and Youth Gardening symposia. These presentations highlight ways in which youth garden educators can encourage their students to consider horticultural careers.

• Farmpreneurs: Cultivating the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs with School Gardens (Christy Carlson and Diana Marutyan, Green Our Planet)
• Camp TURF: A Summer Horticulture Career Academy (Dr. Shelley Mitchell, Oklahoma State University)
• Vocational Horticulture and Transition with Exceptional Students: The Drew Horticulture Program (Michael Craig, Detroit Public Schools)
