Connecticut Horticultural Society 2022 Symposium (virtual)

Register by January 10 to save money on the Connecticut Horticultural Society’s 2022 Virtual Symposium on Saturday, February 5. The day-long event, “Finding New Inspiration in Gardening,” will feature talks by garden experts Kelly Norris, Michael Russo and Katherine Tracey. The symposium is sponsored by Prides Corner Farms, Coast of Maine Organic Products, and Natureworks Garden Center.

The symposium, which is designed to inspire and enlighten novice and expert gardeners when they start to plant in the spring, will run from 9am-4pm and will feature several presentations by the three experts, followed by Q&A time. Register by January 10 and the cost to attend is $50 for members, $65 for non-members, and $10 for students with valid ID. After January 10, the cost will be $65 for members, $85 for non-members and $15 for students with a valid ID.

The Orchid Show at New York Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) announces that its popular orchid exhibition will return for its 19th year with The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope, from February 26 through May 1, 2022. Lifestyle icon and floral designer to the stars Jeff Leatham designed the 2020 Orchid Show, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He is set to reinvent his dazzling creations, transforming each gallery of the exhibition in NYBG’s historic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory into a different color experience, like the turn of a kaleidoscope.

Explore over 300 booths overflowing with fresh flowers, plants, herbs, bulbs, seeds, gardening books, garden equipment & much more. View beautifully landscaped gardens and stop by the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut design & horticulture competition. We also offer over 80 hours of seminars and demonstrations across a variety of topics. AHS members can present their card to receive free admission.

Second Nature exhibit at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is proud to announce the latest art exhibition on display in the Welcome Center: Second Nature, produced by Pittsburgh Glass Center.

Second Nature is inspired by and celebrates the beauty, wonderment and power in the natural world through the medium of glass. Eleven local artists are featured in this exhibit which will be on display in the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Welcome Center starting November 11, 2021, through March 6, 2022.

Holiday Train Show

The Holiday Train Show®—a favorite holiday tradition—is back at The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) for its 30th year. Visitors will marvel as model trains zip through an enchanting display of more than 175 New York landmarks, each delightfully re-created from natural materials such as birch bark, lotus pods, and cinnamon sticks.
