American Horticultural Society

Now in its 32^nd year, theAmerican Horticultural Society’s national Children & Youth Garden Symposium, in partnership with the Chicago Botanic Garden, will be held July 8-11, 2024, on Chicago’s North Shore. The 2024 Symposium, themed “Stories in the Garden,” will offer 26 interactive learning sessions, from basic building blocks to advanced topics, addressing pre-K-12 learning. Personalized visits to the area’s impressive gardens, lakeshore parks, and nature centers will offer opportunities to apply new concepts and connect with fellow youth garden educators from a diversity of communities. Keynote Speaker Selma Sims, Chief Executive Officer and Head Grower of Gardeneers, will share stories of Chicago’s landscape history and inspire future garden stories.
