Join renowned horticulturists and landscape designers for tours of their home gardens! In the first garden, journey through a masterfully crafted landscape of herbs, mosses and grasses, exquisite trees, and water and stone features. Continue to the second property, an award-winning garden cultivated for nearly 30 years that features simple planting design, terracing, and a colorful meadow inspired by a personal connection with Piet Oudolf.
Holly H. Shimizu is a nationally recognized horticulturist with a rich background in gardens, plants, and plant conservation. After working in numerous gardens in England, Germany, Holland, and Belgium, Holly was the first Curator of the National Herb Garden at the US National Arboretum and subsequently served fourteen years as the Executive Director of the US Botanic Garden. Shimizu is an AHS board member and recipient of an AHS Professional Award for Outstanding Public Garden Director.
