Ashton Gardens – Scarecrow Festival (Lehi, UT)

Join us this fall in the Ashton Gardens for our popular Scarecrow Festival. Enjoy the beautiful autumn colors in the expansive 50-acre gardens and dozens of imaginative scarecrows built and submitted by the community. Visit on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to enjoy activities, vendors, and food! Festival is included with regular garden admission and FREE for Thanksgiving Point Members. October 16-21, 2023

Santa Fe Botanical Garden – Lecture and Lunch (Santa Fe, NM)

Please join us for a special lecture and lunch with internationally renowned conservationist Scott Black. Scott is the Executive Director of the Xerces Society, which is the premier invertebrate conservation organization in North America. He is one of the authors of the best-selling book Attracting Native Pollinators and Gardening for Butterflies and has written more than two hundred other publications, including a recent chapter on climate change and insects. Scott has received numerous awards for his conservation work.

Lauritzen Gardens – Succulent Workshop (Omaha, NE)

Come play with dirt, express your creativity, and learn about the soil and substrate needed, as well as the care and maintenance to have a lasting succulent arrangement with Moss Hunters. In this workshop, participants will choose 3 succulents and construct a container garden of their own to take home. All supplies provided.

New and Unusual Ornamental Plants with Jay Moore, Wednesday, September 27th at 3:00 p.m. In this talk, Jay Moore will show us many plant introductions that are new to the market or will be coming soon. He may also touch on some older plants that still carry much merit but are often underutilized.

UC Riverside Botanic Gardens – Art in the Gardens (Riverside, CA)

10am-3pm, University of California Riverside (UCR) Botanic Gardens will host an outreach event where curated items from local artisans are offered for sale. Come spend a pleasant afternoon strolling through Alder Canyon, where California artists and craftspersons are showcased representing a variety of media including ceramics, jewelry, mosaics, metal work, fiber arts, wood, and photography. Art in the Gardens is a great opportunity to shop from local artists while supporting the programs and activities of the UCR Botanic Gardens.

Ladew Topiary Gardens – Art Exhibit (Monkton, MD)

This exhibit is titled, “Totems: A Cosmic Conversation,” and will be on display until 10/31/23. The juxtaposition of Sam’s distinctive work in Ladew’s natural setting creates a contrast of soft and hard features that highlight the best of both. His colorful totems rising out of our Meadow are dynamic features telling a lyrical story. Sam’s work involves cultural and personal histories and explores the theme of human relationships.
